1.My favorite line in the speech is "Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America — they will be met." This is my favorite line because he makes it known that he knows America is a strong united nation. It shows that he thinks that we are ready to get through anything and everything. This line is important to me because we need someone strong to lead America through hese hard times and i believe that he is that for us. I think as for Aerica they feel the same way i do and are glad to have a strong president that is ready for anything that will come are way. That is why this is my favorite line.
2. I believe that the speeches over all theme was unity. I think this because he kept refiring to our problems that we have and will face. He always rfered to America as a strong nation that can get through anything. He was always informing the people that he knows that America is dealing with hard times right now but that we can get through all of it together. Also, that we will get through everything. Unity is an important thing for a nation to have and he let that be known to all poeple. Without unity we cant get through anything. Soi thought that it was goood that President Obama made it known to the world that America is a united and strong nation. That is why i feel unity was the main theme in president obamas speech.

1.Mt favorite line of the speech is "In reaffirming the greatness of our nation, we understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned." This line means to me that we live in this great nation but it's not something that we should expect it to just be. It is time for all of us as a nation to start over and build it back up.
2.To me the over all theme of the speech is Resolve. I believe President Barack Obama understands all the opportunities we have at this time. He said..." Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet." He understands we are in a time of crisis. "Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America — they will be met." As our country welcomes in a new president it is all of our responsibilities to become united, to be one, and to have a goal to be great once again.

1. My favorite line of the speech was when he said,"Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America.". i like this line because barack is saying that there will be change. He is saying that he is going to do something when he is in the office. America really does need change with alot of thing. i think he is going to do a good job as president. i think he can really change america.

2. I really like barak's speech. His main points was that america is in a bad position right now. he said that he is going to get us out of it. He also said that we need to help and stand togther for the problems that we are going to face. i think that barack can do it. i think that he can fix alot of the problems in america

1. My favorite line in the Inauguration speech is .”To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect. To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society's ills on the West — know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist.” My favorite because this line brings peace between our nation and the muslims and fighting will end. That America is willing to make peace, if Muslims are willing to let there anger go so that we can spread peace throughout the nation. That we are a step closer from fighting and that people are ready for the war to end and there ready for peace.

2.The over all theme in the Inauguration speech is Unity. I think in the inauguration speech it talked more about unity because he talked about making peace with the Muslims. Working alongside the poor nation to help farms and keep clean flowing waters flowing. That we will leave Iraq and make peace with Afghanistan. We gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.

1. My favorite line of the speech was "...The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness." I liked this because it shows that he knows exactly what he wants for America. I also feel that this is something that should be carried out by every citizen of the United States, not just the president. I think this means that America needs to step up and take responsibility for those rights that we have fought so hard to have for our free country today. now im really interested in how he plans to carry out such big plans.

2. One of the overall themes of the speech was unity within America. When he says, "On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord..." he is showing that he has faith in the people of America coming together for one major cause. He is making it clear to us that if we take responsibility and come together to resolve any major conflict that comes our way we can do it, and it has been done years ago by the founding fathers of America. I feel that unity may be possible but in order for it to work and for America to get out of our financial crisis we all will have to decide what we want as a country and go for it together. i have a feeling that with as much will power President Obama has towards our country we will e able to fulfill our duties.

1. My favorite part of the speech is "So let us mark this day with remembrance, of who we are and how far we have traveled. In the year of America's birth, in the coldest of months, a small band of patriots huddled by dying campfires on the shores of an icy river. The capital was abandoned. The enemy was advancing. The snow was stained with blood. At a moment when the outcome of our revolution was most in doubt, the father of our nation ordered these words be read to the people" Because I think how America has progressed, even though we are still a young country, we have a passion for change.
2. I think the overall theme of the speech was change. Change in the meaning that Americans need to change how they use resources, change in the way we have our government, and change they way we look at certain people.

1. "For those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you." This is my favorite line in President Obama's inaugural speech. This is my favorite line because the words Obama uses reflect boldness and determination. He says he will defeat terrorists. This is a bold move because we haven’t always been successful in doing this. I think Obama means that no matter what we Americans will never give up. For the rest of America I think it means that we are stronger because we are not afraid.

2. Unity is defined as a state of being united as a whole, including cooperation, and agreement. Unity is what Obama seems to express a lot in his speech. For example in the quote above, he uses words like “we” and “us” instead of “I” and “me.” He uses those words to bring Americans together against one enemy, Terrorists. In his speech he talks about other problems for Americans to unify against. He talks about health care, the economy, and education. He says we need to come together to solve the problems.

1) "Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America — they will be met." This is my favorite line because it tells us Americans that he knows what problems are happening at the moment but he also knows that will time he shall be able to come to a solution with the challenges that we may have. This line is important for me because in this time of crisis we need someone to stand up and lead us through and i believe that Obama will be the person to do so and many people think so as well. For the rest of the Americans i think that this line means a lot for them as well because they do also realize we are in a tough time and they most likely believe that Obama can and will bring us through this time of crisis. That is why this is my favorite line of this speech.
2) I think that the overall theme of his speech was Resolve. I believe that this is the theme because Obama realizes the time we are in at the moment and he is trying to fix problems that Americans are having. One thing that he said was "Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet." President Obama realizes we are in a time of crisis and that he will have to fix these problems, but he needs all of the Americans to come together so that we as America can help him make fix these problems and make it easier to live as it was before. That is why i think that Resolve is one of the main topics of Obama's speech.

1.) My favorite line of the speech is "To the people of poor nations, we pledge to work alongside you to make your farms flourish and let clean waters flow; to nourish starved bodies and feed hungry minds." This line to me means that he is is willing not just to help us, but others that need help also. He is saying that "WE pledge to work alongside you..." This really shows that he knows we will also stand alongside of him and his decision in what he dose. This line is important to me because it shows me he want's to make a change in not only the nation but the world. And like many people said, a change might just be the thing we need.

2.) There are many themes going on in this speech. But the one that I think is the main point of the speech is UNITY. I say this because in his speech he use's a lot the word "we" which shows that we are one country that will stand united. He states many changes that he will do but also many that we as a nation should support him with. I believe that in this time of crisis, standing together as one is what we really need. That is what i think the main point of Pres. Obama's speech was, To Stand united.

1. My favorite line is "We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things. The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation..." These are my favorite lines because Obama is saying that we need to stop doing things that are unnecessary and come together as one united nation. He says that it's time to better yourself. We have to make things right if we want to make a good history. I also like it because he says that America has to step up and do something for this country. He wants all American citizens to take this away from his speech to be passed on from generation to generation.

2. I think the main theme of this speech was that he was telling all Americans how he will change and unite America. He says that now many things will change now especially with schools and jobs. He also says that he will help for those who are in poverty. He is going to make changes now for our us and our childrens children."Let it be said by our children's children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations."

1.Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America. this is my favorite part because it shows how he wants to fix the problems in america. to me this one line means that we have to "wake up" and deal with the problems we have and fix them as best as possible. it also means he wants to try and get america moving again towards a good economy. i think to america it means that we need to realize what were are doing and see what the outcomes are going to be in the long run instead of just trying to fix things temporarily.
2. Obama's main theme to me was change. this theme covers a lot of things that he wanted to do. one of the lines that Obama has used for change was "For the world has changed, and we must change with it." i believe that "change" is how he is trying to get everything back on track and wants to make things better even though some things are already good. he wants to make the USA not dependent upon other nations for survival. in another way he wants us to make things for ourselves.

1. When reading the Inuaguration my favoite line in President Barack Obama's speech is "Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America - they will be met." This is my favorite quote because this is when President Barack Obama really started to get to the main point of his speech. I think this is the part the whole nation was waiting for, how he was going to restore economic problems, bring back the troops and restoring peace with other countries. This line means that Obama knows that we are facing hardships right now with our country and that we need to get threw them. Although they will not be solved immediatly we will still get through them as a nation. I think that most people in America would agree that he is pin pointing the economic crisis, the troops and restoring peace. Hopefully, just like I do they see the positivity coming from this specific line in the speech

2. In my point of view the theme of Barack Obamas speeches before he was President elect was Change. Now that he is President i think many people have a higher expectation of him and the theme of the speech at the Inauguration was Challenges to be met. I think this because Barack was bringing up issues that George Bush should have accomplished up to two years in this quote Barack reminds us of Hurricane Katrina and how some parts still havent been restored ; " For everywhere we look, there is work to be done.... We will build the roads and bridges, the electric grids and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together. " This quote remineded me of Katrina beacuse we still need to fix bridges and roads that are still damaged from years ago.

1. My favorite line of the speech was “Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America — they will be met.” To me this means that Obama realizes the problems we have in America right now. It shows that he knows its not going to be easy to change but he’s going to make the change. There’s so many serious problems that need to be taken care of and he’s going to try to make that happen. I think it reassures America that he knows what he has to do as President and that he’s trying to make life better for everyone.

2. I think the over all theme of the speech is change. He talks about all the problems there are in America right now and how Americans are being affected. “Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet.” “These are the indicators of crisis, subject to data and statistics Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America — they will be met.” He also shows that he wants to make a change for the future generations. “Let it be said by our children's children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations.”

1. "Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America - they will be met." This is my favorite quote of Obamma's inauration speech becuase he is lettin America and the people that live here that he is here for change. This is what us Americans are looking for, a change. I know by my parents that we are in a time of crisis, our economy is really down in the dumps. Also i like that he is going to work hard and long to meet these challenages.

2. I think the oer all theme of Baracks's speech was change. I say this because he talked about the challenages that we are facing and that he is gonna change them. Obama wants to change the way we use resources, not to be so depentant on them. This was what i think that Obama's whole speech was based on change and how what he is gonna do to change America

1.My favorite line in the speech was "Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this America-they will be met." This line is my favorite because he said that even we have a lot of problems in our counrty right now that he is going to help us fix them. This line means to me that he is willing to fix the problems and that they will be fixed by the time that I am older and have a family. I think this means a lot to Americans because thay need a person that is strong and willing to fix the issues with our country.
2. I think the main theme of Obama's speech was that we are going to meet challenges and they will be met. I think this is the main theme becuase we will face challenges and they will be met. We also needed change in our country and he is willing to bring that to America. I think Obama's speech was mostly based on change and i think he is willing to do that.

But know this, America- they will be met. this is my favorite line in the speech because he believes that if all of us can work together, that we can make these changes no matter how long it takes. It give me hope that we can live in a better world and this will happen with Obama as the leader of our nation. i think it means to rest of American that we have to take action and make these changes ourselves.
2. The overall theme of this speech i thing was hope. President Obama knows that we are facing some problems in our everyday lives. Obama has hope in him and in us. So in order to make these changes we are so desperate to make we need to have hope that we can do this.

1. “We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense, and for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you.” This is my favorite line because like any sane person, I don’t like the killing that goes on in the world whether it’s from wars or hatred of people around us. This gives American’s hope that one day the killing will seize. This says that the wars will end so our troops can come home to be with their families again. American’s like the way they live and feel others should live the same way with the freedom we have and we won’t apologize for our freedom and equality.

2. In my opinion, the main topic of Obama’s speech was change. People were unequal at a time until they fought for their freedom. People now live in fear because of wars and the economy, but there will be change so people can live freely with their full measure of happiness that God promised. Obama says that we need to be strong and courageous instead of the weak, scared people we were when we faced hardships. It’s time now to turn the whole country around.

This is my favorite line because its saying that all are equal and free and everyone deserves to be happy. I think America feels the same about this line as I do.

2. I think the main theme is change, how he wants to remake America. Also he wants to face the serious challenges.

1. My favortie line in Obama's speech was "Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America — they will be met."When he said that statment he was being very direct and strong. He knows that this country needs a change and he is ready to do it.As Americans he is calling out foe our help too, to unite America. This line is important to be because he reaches out to everyone, old and young, in saying that America needs change and i won't happen over night, but it will happen. Every person i feel like was touched by this statement. It will be forever remembered.
2.One of the overall themes of the speech was unity within America. When he says, "On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord..." he is saying that he will to his best as president to make the country better, but he needs our help. As a country we need to all come together and unite. Obama will led us to become a better country. This is why he will be a great president.

1. my favorite line in the speech was, "Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet." i think it is the line in the whole entire speech that realy adresses dead on what the problems in america are today. this line means to me that barack realy knows whats goin on, and how he can make some things better.

2.i think that the speeches main theme was change. for most of the speech barack talked about all the weaknesses of america. he then turned things around by talking about how he is goin to fix, and change the problems. he is giving everyone in america something to look foward to. i have a feeling that barack is going to be one of the greatest presidents to ever go down in history.

1.My favorite line of the speech was "To the people of poor nations, we pledge to work alongside you to make your farms flourish and let clean waters flow; to nourish starved bodies and feed hungry minds." This line is my favorite because it helps me know that there hopefully won't be that many starving people in the country. He's going to try to do all he can to help fix the problem. As for America, i think the Americans want our problems fixed first. Of course. There are a lot of issues here right know so i think they want this issue to be pushed aside for a later time. I dont speak for other Americans but i feel like this is how they feel.
2.The over all theme is resolve. I think this because he says we are at war. Our economy is badly weakened. Homes have been lost as well as jobs. Our health care is too costly. However he says something that makes me believe that resolve is the main theme. "Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and there are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America-they will be met."

1) My favorite line in the speech is "We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense, and for those who seek to advance their aims by inducting terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is strong and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you". This is my favorite line because President Obama is telling us that if you are a terrorist we are going to defeat you, we will not hide, we will not change our way of life and we will do what ever it takes to defend our freedom. I feel that all americans feel the way that i do and that is what makes america the greatest country in the world.

2) I beleive that the over all theme of Barack's speech was that America is not the country it once was, but can be the country it was once. He's telling us that he can not do this on his own but if all americans work together we can make this country the country our four fathers beleived it could be. President Obama says that we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood. Our nation is at war, homes have been lost; jobs shed; business shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy stengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet. Our lines are no less inventive, our goods and services no less needed than they were last week or last month, or last year. Our capasity remains undiminished. But our time of standing pat, of protecting narrow interests and putting off unpleasant decisions- that time has surley passed. Starting today, we must pick our selves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking america

1. In president Barack Obama's speech my favorite line was when he said "...and why a man whose father less than sixty years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oath". to me he is saying that no matter what anyone can do anything they really want or aspire to do,and to me that seems like a verry inspiring qoute to me and to America
2. i think that Barack Obama's main theme of the speech was unity. I think this because Barack is constantly refering to the hard times americans are going through right now and how we will work to gether to resolve them. He also talks about america and how if we unite and stand together that we will prevail. he mentions thechallenges that american face today and says they will be met. President Obama's speece wass very powerful and storng, and i also believe that during the speech all americans felt united in a way. This is why i believe Barack Obama's main theme of the speech was unity.

1.My favorite line of the speech is "The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness." This is my favorite line because it is telling me that the problems in the United States will be ending soon. That we will have a better life for us. Obama is also saying that he wants to change history and make things better for the nation. What it means to me is that I wont have to be worried about school being to high in price and that everything will be ok. Also in the war that people will hopefully have their loved ones back safely in America. I also thing America will agree with me about gas prices being to high and how people are losing their jobs. Also schools and homes are taking a lose. Hopefully this will all change and Barack Obama will change all the problems that we have in America today.

2.I believe the over all theme for the speech was change. He wanted to change America and make it a good nation. Thats what all americans want is to know that they will be ok in their jobs, homes, schools, gas, etc. America has changed for the worse and I know I just want evrything to be back how it was and not have to worry what will happen in the future. Like i said, maybe we can have a back to normal life, just like Obama said.

1. My favorite line the speech was "So let us mark this day with remembrance, of who we are and how far we have traveled. In the year of America's birth, in the coldest of months, a small band of patriots huddled by dying campfires on the shores of an icy river. The capital was abandoned. The enemy was advancing. The snow was stained with blood. At a moment when the outcome of our revolution was most in doubt, the father of our nation ordered these words be read to the people:

"Let it be told to the future world ... that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survive...that the city and the country, alarmed at one common danger, came forth to meet (it)."
This is my favorite line because Obama is trying to tell everybody that our nation has been through tougher times then we are going though now, and that with time and hard work from everyone that we can rebuild our country.

2. Obama's purpose was to reassure and motivate America. He was trying to tell every one that to rebuild America will take more then the government. And that the citizens of America will have to do their part.

1. My favorite line is "the world has changed and we must change with it". It was my favorite because it is true. We need to help ourselves and others who may not be in our country but are less fortunate. I think this speech was very good he explained himself and what he was going to do very well and a lot of people understood him.
2. I was going to say there wasn't a main theme but now as I'm actually thinking there was. It was change and there are somethings that need to change like a new source of fuel instead of fossil fuels because there's only so much left. To help others less fortunate in foreign country's not so much in learning but like children slavery and kidnapping and making kids sex slaves that needs to stop. Obama will be a good president because he gonna change the world..

1.My favorite line of the speech was "Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America they will be met." Tis is my favorite line in the speech because Obama is showing that he is ready for anything that goes wrong, and he knows that America is a strong country and can deal with the things that get in our way. This line also tells you that he knows what is going on and know that we can get through it.
2.I think the over all theme of the speech is responsibility. I think its responsibility because he is talking about the problems we have and he believes that he is a responsible person that can make things better and help us with our problems such as the economy and war.

My favorite line in the speech is "Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet". This is my favorite because its saying that a change needs to be done now with our health care and the way we use energy. Its also saying we all need a change in the way we take more care of our earth.
2. I think the main point of the speech was unity. I believe this because he kept going back that we are a strong nation and we can get to anything. Also many times he pointed out the problems we have and that will be faced but, also said we can get through them. I also believe that cahnge was a very strong thene of his speech many times he said we need a change in the way we use our energy and spend our money.
I think both of these things are very important themes that were put out and needed grately of a nation.

1.My favorite line in the speech is "To the people of poor nations, we pledge to work alongside you to make your farms flourish and let clean waters flow; to nourish starved bodies and feed hungry minds." This line to me means that he is willing to help everyone in this world. Not just the people who are wealthy but the people who really need the help. We all need to come together as one and help each other out and put aside all our differences. This line is important because this is exaclty what needs to happen. Obama said he would make a change and i definatley think he will.
2.I think the over all theme of the speech was unity. Like I said before we need to set aside all problems that we have with each other and unite as one. We could be a better America if we did. Obama knows that we can do anything when we all come together because he uses "we" the whole time in his speech. He made a lot of great points in his speech that made a lot of sense. Hopefully it made as much sense to me and to other people as well. A lot of changes are going to go on i believe but good changes.

1. “We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense, and for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you” (President Obama). “To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society's ills on the West — know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy” (President Obama). These are my favorite lines of the speech based upon the moral meaning behind them. The world is doused with immoral people along with ideas that plague all who exist within it. To understand what is stated, you must look at the past and present of America. By a building being destroyed, intern you don't do anything to effect who people are in a country. Terrorist feel that by acts of treachery and isolationism, they can create havoc, giving them a sense of power. The lines above read that america will not give in to such an attack of evil or out of fear. The terror is real but the power to be gained by the terrorist is minut. To America this line represents what America is. We are a strong people who do not give up and do not show weakness even to devastating events. It brings the nation together and allows many to be at ease.

2. As stated in the campaign and through out Obama's many speeches, he wants "change." His idea thrives on the belief that America can pick itself up. The idea that America itself can be "improved" in all aspects of the word. In the words of Obama he says, " We will build the roads and bridges, the electric grids and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together. We will restore science to its rightful place, and wield technology's wonders to raise health care's quality and lower its cost. We will harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories." The concept of a new nation and the change to pursue the "new America." By the investing of time to put into change for the nation it relates to everything spoken in Obama's speech. The number one aspect is that Obama sees a change that will need to occur. Everything he touches on is explained by a thesis of changing things in America and abroad. Fortunatly he shows that possibilities of this "new America" can be achieved but as he claimed, it will take longer than the time he is in office.

1. My favorite line in pesident Obama's speech was "With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come". This line means to me that America should stick together through the teh bad and good times. This is my favorite line because we have to have hope and virtue through the hard times. This line means to America is that we should be more united. This line in Obama's speech ment alot to the people.

2. The main theme of his speech i believe is being united. This is because we have to be united through the hard times like the econimics, and the war. This line "With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come" talks about being united. Obama talked about being united alot. United means alot to the people beacuse we are in a ruff time right now.

1.My favorite line in the speech is "Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for the new age." This is my favorite line since I agree that our economy has gone down and we need to get it back up. This line to me makes me feel that he will make our economy strong again.I belive that America has the same perspective I do, we are ready for change in America.
2.I think that one of the over all themes are change. He will cause our economy to get stronger and better and our nation to stay strong. He wants or nation to move forward and to refurbish our trust between the citizens and the government.Obama also wants to bring our country to a new era of peace and unity. This is why i believe that change is the main theme in Obama's speech.

1. my favorite line of barak obama speech is "all are free and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness". this is my favorite line beacuse i believe its true. this line means to mean that everyone in this world deserves their measure of happiness. i dont think that people really belive this is true. what i think this line means to the rest of america is that if we all get behinde it then we can belive in it for each other then we will be more tolerant for each other and be more giving.
2. the main point of the speech is our country has many problems and america will rise up and overcome. we all must come together to make this country great again. some examples of this are Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. "They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America they will be met". and another is "

Let it be said by our children's children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations".

1. My favorite line in the Barack Obama's speech is,"The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness." This is my favorite line because he has the spirit and attitude we need to make changes to our nation. He believes in bring out the best of America, and making great changes. Its important to me because it reminds me that all are equal, free, and have the right of happiness. I think its important to the rest of America because this line proves that everyone is equal and we have rights.
2. I think the overall theme of his speech is change. Obama talks about change many times through out his speech. He talks about new change in many ways, such as schools, war, economy, and health care. "Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age." Barack Obama is ready for change and will try to prepare our country for a new age.

1. In reaffirming the greatness of our nation, we understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned. I like these phrase because Obama is trying to tell the people you are never just handed things you have to earn the respect and take responsibility to make a better life for yourself. I think this speech is well thought out and meaningful to everyone. American will have to face up to the challenges that may face them it might not be easy but will be greatly achieved with hard work. this is a wonderful speech and will stick with me for my whole life.

2. The theme of this speech is responsibility and change. I picked these two themes because Obama kept saying during his campaign that he represented change. I also picked responsibility because everyone needs to be responsible for their own actions and need to step up and make the world a better place. It is not an easy change but if we believe in each other and work together to make the change happen we become responsible.
So I believe with responsibility and change we will make the nation stronger.

1.) My favorite quote from President Obama’s speech was, “The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.” It’s my favorite because it made me feel like I was protected and safe. I felt as if I could actually put all my trust on President Obama. This line confirms to me that he is sure of what he wants for America and how he wants to change the way America is. President Obama wants a better place to be not only for himself but also for all of us; he wants to change the way America thinks. He also wants to give all the citizens there rights that they were never given; in addition he wants to reach out and get rid of discrimination. I think all other Americans know that he is going to change things and make us Americans more proud of where we’re from.

2. The overall theme in Obama’s speech is equality. He wants everyone living in the United States to be equal. It doesn’t matter if we have different beliefs or if we pertain to a different ethnicity, we should all be treated equal. He thinks that everyone should be the same, and everyone should have the same opportunities. After all, we are all human and we should all be treated the same. Everyone should have respect and should care for one another. We are all brothers and sisters from God!

My favorite line in Obamas's speech is "today i say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this America-they will be met."This line is my favorite part of his speech because it shows that he is not like other presidents that say o im going to do this and that but never do it. When he said this it seems like he is telling us that there are many problems but he'll try to fix it gonna take time but he'll not but them aside. What i think this lines means to the rest of America is well basically they same way I do especially how people are going through economy. I think that people want that problem to be resolved and are glad that he said that.
2.I think the overall theme of his speech is that he'll try to resolve all the problems that america is going through but we as people no matter the religion or color should be united and stay as a strong nation to reach our goal in fixing the difficulties we are having such as the economy, war, and schools.I think this is theme because he had said in his speech that "For everywhere we look, there is work to be done. The state of the economy calls for action, bold and swift, and we will act — not only to create new jobs, but to lay a new foundation for growth. We will build the roads and bridges, the electric grids and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together. We will restore science to its rightful place, and wield technology's wonders to raise health care's quality and lower its cost. We will harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories. And we will transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age. All this we can do. All this we will do."and he always mentions of the weekness of our economy the wars and schools and never says he himself we'll do it but us also should stand together and work it out together.

1) My favorite part of the Inauguration Speech is "For as much as government can do and must do, it is ultimately the faith and determination of the American people upon which this nation relies. It is the kindness to take in a stranger when the levees break, the selflessness of workers who would rather cut their hours than see a friend lose their job which sees us through our darkest hours. It is the firefighter's courage to storm a stairway filled with smoke, but also a parent's willingness to nurture a child, that finally decides our fate. " To my this line in the speech means that everyone in the United States need to do their part to help the country get through what they have to. And that there will be someone who needs your help eventually and you would have them to do the same and help you if needed. To other people around America, I think this line to other people gives them a sense of security, since they now all know that if they ever were in a time of crisis that there will be somewhere safe for them to go. And that there will be programs and people looking out for their well being.

2.One of the main points in the speech is unity. And unity not just for America but with other countries as well."This is the meaning of our liberty and our creed — why men and women and children of every race and every faith can join in celebration across this magnificent Mall, and why a man whose father less than sixty years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oath. " This quote is directed towards the United States and it shows how he wants as all to be one body not segregated into little section of America but one whole "family". When speaking to the other countries he says that "To the people of poor nations, we pledge to work alongside you to make your farms flourish and let clean waters flow; to nourish starved bodies and feed hungry minds. And to those nations like ours that enjoy relative plenty, we say we can no longer afford indifference to the suffering outside our borders; nor can we consume the world's resources without regard to effect. For the world has changed, and we must change with it. " And this is a good thought helping the weak countries and conspiring with the strong. Making the whole world a better place.

1.My favorite line of Barack Obama's speech is "Today I say to you that the callenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this Americathey will be met." That line in the speech is my favorite because he has brought upthe challenges we will have to face in order to become a strong nation and stand together as one.this speech means to america that there is hope and we can get through this as a nation.

2.Hs main parts of his speech is to show America that more then ever we need to stand together. We need to let our goverment do what they have too. ut most of all we need to have hope

My favorite line in this speech was, "On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord." This is my favorite line because Obama is reinstating that we are all united and even though this is a harsh time that we will get through it. He says its easier to fear whats going to happen than to hope for the better of whats to come.

2.I believe the the theme of this speech was Unity. Obama talked a lot about us staying united and believing that everything will get better. He knows that we are in hard times. He knows that if we all satay united then we can keep things orderly. This is why i thought the theme of the speech is unity.

1. My favorite speech was "Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America — they will be me" I think that this is showing alot of confidence that America will get the job done. I like this alot because it shows that he is not scared at all.
2. I believe that he is telling u that he is going to pull the USA's act together since we are in a bad spot. We need to unite as one if we are going to do this. We will not fail and we will fight through all of the problems.

My favorite line of the speech was when he said,"Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America." He's saying here that we are in hard times but we cant let that put us down. Americas been this sutuation before and we have gotten through it, we can do it again. I like this line because it gives americans hope.

2. I think giving the americans Hope was the theme of this speach. He referse to hope and belieing all through out this speech. He's saying that we can't get down because things are going bad at the moment and we need to maintain unity and be hopefull. this is why i think the theme was Hope.

1]My favorite quote in president obama's speech is when he says "on this day we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.i like it because we do need to work together to create a stronger nation and we need hope to get there. It really states in my opinion that we have the oppertunity to do so and we might just become a better and stronger nation because of it. Everyone in America wants a better place to live and i think they believe that Obama can help us to achieve it. I also believe it.
2]I believe unity is one of the biggest themes in the speech. People can't achieve success of a big goal if they don't work together. The more people working to achieve a specific goal the easier it is to achieve it. I think that everyone in america needs to believe that they can work with each other, and just maybe things might get better for america as we hope.

My favorite line in President Obama's speech was"For those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you." This is my favorite line because he means we are Americans and we have pride in ourselves as well as courage to defeat anyone who stands in our way. Also this line means that we are the nation that will overcome anything. We are a nation that will survive because we have faith in ourselves. This line tells us that we have a lot of confidence in ourselves to do and become anything we want.

1.)My favorite line that President Obama said was when he said, “The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit to choose our better history to carry forward that precious gift that noble idea passed on from generation to generation the God-given promise that all are equal all are free and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.” I liked it because it made me feel that Obama was going to make everyone have a job again and have homes. It made me feel that Obama knew what he was going to do. This makes me feel that he has a full plan for our nation for the next 4 years. President Obama wants a better place to be not only for himself but also for all of us he wants to change the way America thinks. Also wants to give all the citizens there rights that they were never given in addition he wants to reach out and get rid of discrimination. I think all American knows that he will change the way America is right now.

2.)The theme in Obama’s speech is that all men and women are equall. He wants everyone living in the United States to be equall. It wont mater what you believe in or how you look. He thinks that everyone should be the same also everyone should have the same opportunities. Everyone should have respect and should care for one another. We should all take care of each other in America.

1. ”To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect. To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society's ills on the West — know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist.” was my favorite part of the speech. It was my favorite because we Americans have seen terrorism in our own country done by others, and we are still at war because they instill terror and fear as a resolution. Barack reassures us and the muslims from another country, that we will not fight back. We will not respond by destroying and instilling fear on those. We are willing to lend out a helping hand if they will also compromise and agree to a peaceful solution.

2. I think the speeches overall theme was unity, resolution, patience, and change. Barack brought all of Americans common goals and desires together in one really great speech. He said that things will be done, and that change is on the way, but it will not happen quickly, it will take some time. He reassures us that change is needed, with saving the planet, such as energy usage and preserving our future, and strengthening the economy, because "Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many."

This is my favortie part because it shows that he knows what he wants for our country and he shows that he's ready to take on such a big task. This line is important to me because it shows that America needs somebody who is strong and willing to run the country and take on the hard tasks, like Obama. I think America would agree with me because it's time for America to change and fix the things that need to be changed and that Obama is the right person for the role, as president.

2.I think the speeches over all theme was unity. In the speech he always said the America is a strong and untied nation. He also said things about how America will fight its way through the hard times and make it through. He always had a positive attitude that America will get throught everything. Unity is a very big part because it shows that America will always be united as one. Also he realizes that homes, jobs, and many other thing have been lost but he reassures them that everything will be okay. This is why i think unity is the over all theme of the speech.

1.My favorite part of the speech is when president Obama says "Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in short span of time. But know this America - they will be met." This is my favorite line because it lets us know that we are strong and can get through and fight for anything an anything. This is important because we need a strong, smart, brave president to guide us and our nation. This is why I think President Barock Obama is the best man to take this job and help us through times and be one united nation.
2. To me the overall speech was very well said and President Barock Obama is great for this spot in our nation. I think President Obama has made it clear that we can deal with anything that is thrown at us because we are a strong united nation. He and many other people believe that is the best choose to be our president and our united leader of this nation.

1.My favorite line in Obama's speech is "Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and there ae many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America they will be met." I like this line since it gives me the assurance that he wants to keep this nation strong and make our economy better again. I believe that he will keep our country safe and make our econmoy stronger once again. Im ready for change and America is also.
2. I believe this speech is about change. Change is the most important thing that our country wants right now since our economy is at a bad state. Obama wants to make our econmy stronger and keep our nation strong and safe. He constantly reminds us of our problems right now and he says he is going to change them. I have a possitive feeling that Obama will make changesin the areas of our country that need it. This is why I think that change was the main theme in Obamas speech.
