Political Cartoon #1

1. The objects found in the political cartoon for World war II shows a bigger bird with an American flag hat who represents FDR. We see a smaller bird with a nazi sign that represents Hitler. The broken trees that have names on them represent all the lands that Hitler and his nazi party took over. Hitler is trying to cut through England but he can’t.
2. “Ho hum! When he’s finished pecking down that last tree he’ll quite likely be tired.” This means that sooner or later, Hitler will be done and America will be victorious.
3. The trees are a symbol of the fallen nations. The nazi sign represents Hitler and his followers. The American flag hat represents the President and the United States.
4. The bigger bird looks very confident and the little bird looks very tired and looks like a madman.
5. The little bird is pecking down the trees. FDR (the bigger bird) is sitting on his territory and protecting it.
6. Hitler and his Nazi party are taking over other countries, but America is confident and England can’t be taken down.

Political Cartoon #2

1. We see Moosalini, Stalin, and Hitler all connected and they are the dictators. The little baby is the Allied Powers. The book on the floor is the bible comparing the baby (America) to David who slayed Goliath (Dictators).
2. “Just wait until the little feller grows up.” Saying when the Allied powers gets stronger, dictators will have no chance.
3. The faces of the three dictators are a symbol. The baby is a symbol for America and the date 1941 on the babys diaper is also a symbol.
